Anyone else thinking Powerclaw 2.6"?

I love the 2.25" powerclaw tracks on the Cats. Now that Cat is coming out with a 2.6" powerclaw track over the old 2.25", I really want to swap one onto the pro. I'm guessing Avid 7T drivers are the way to go on this? Anyone have an idea of how much track to tunnel clearance one would have after the swap?

I don't think a driver swap is necessary. I have a 2.5 camo extreme and there is still lots of room

The track pitch is different though on the Poo 5.1 track, so I would think I'd need different drivers as well? Looks like this track will be available 8/31/12

From what I heard it's going to be spendy... I think I'd go with a camo extreme before the claw, jmo...

no there isn't. not where it makes a difference at your bulkhead. there isn't enough room with the stock 5.1 let alone with the CE. unless you changed your drivers which it doesn't sound like you did. just because it technically fits doesn't mean there is plenty of room.

Yup some of their sleds still have it.

You would most certainly have to go with 7 tooth drivers (and the required chaincase clearance mod) or an extended chaincase from Ice Age or Avid... an 8 tooth 3" pitch driver is bigger than an 8 tooth 2.86" pitch driver... that on top of 1/4" more lug than stock... no worky.

do we know what the new chaincase looks like on the inside of the tunnel yet??

ie., will the the chaincase mod be necessary to go to the 7 tooth drivers?
