Anyone do a headlight delete

Ive been thinking of doing the same thing. Thinking about yanking the second airbox off (I think it is the mount for the headlight anyways) Then running a snorkel with a turbo style intake up and out the top. Shouldnt have any more bogging problems after than. Then making a mesh hood to cover everything up. Made on for my 07 rev. Didnt look the prettiest, but it did work awesome. Sled ran alot crisper.

This is what I want to do also....probably make a summer project of it though. Have you thought at all about a roll cage of sorts for over the air filter? Was thinking it would look cool and work awesome, but without some sort of cage would be too vulnerable.

I was just thinking about having a flexible rubber 90 from primary airbox, and then a cage like the turbos use with the prefilter material over it. That way if you roll the sled, the intake will just flop over because of the rubber hose.

That sounds like a good plan... I have actually seen some headlight delete sleds out there but never any good pictures of how it was done but getting rid of that heavy airbox will be a plus

Does anyone know if there is any problem with the electrical system if a guy just leaves the headlight unplugged? Will the tail light draw enough power to not wreck anything?

i got tired of my 08 xp bogging out so i built an airbox delete kit. i got rid of the second airbox and built a k and n filter and cold air intake that comes out the side of the gas tank cover where the mounts for the side part of the windshield is. we just used some light gage sheetmetal strips to build the mounts for the headlight. it works awesome, doesnt plug up with snow anymore and definately sounds way cooler. it is also protected when you roll by the handlebars and the headlight/guage cluster. that being said i smashed a tree and wrecked the headlights and guage pod on saturday so if anyone has any ideas or pictures of mesh or lexan hoods with no headlight it would be much appreciated. also deaner after i hit the tree it knocked the plugs off the headlights and i rode most of the day like that no problems.
