Looks like a big bright dome over the northern horizon....kinda like a near-by planet in a sci-fi flick. LOL

They started dancing and making streaks a little bit ago.

I love watching them and only look for them a few times a year.

actually .........there was a total solar eclipse today observed in India and a comet bonked into Jupiter today to on the 15th aniversary of shoemaker..just a tidbit fer you

I'm down in TX right now and all I see if dust and all I smell is cow schtit and sewer gas.

There are a few places back home you can get a good view of them, I've only seen them in the fall though. Pretty cool to see.

just looked, strangest darn thing I have seen in awhile.
never before have I seen em like that, WOW!

Still daylight here as well. We don't get to see them in the summer months but we sure do get great shows in the winter though!

one time, bout 7-8 years ago, I seen the northern lights from here in iowa, It was the dead of winter and i was pullin the front end outta my truck after a tragic snow boggin incident. it was one of the coolest things i have ever seen....mainly becasuse all i see is corn in the summer and patches of black field in the snow in the winter....come to think of it iowa freakin sucks

yeah never seen them in the summer in MN, but seen some gooders out in the duck boat and in winter.

definitly worth the lack of sleep and freezing temps.

and meatman, shoot I could have told you that along time ago...heck being an hour north of Iowa kinda sucks too.

I've caught them a few times in the winter time here in MN. It is amazing with an open area on the lake. Maybe I'll stay up late and see if I can catch any tonight?

you are all lucky bastages the lights are so cool ! I wish we could see them this far south!

Crap! Scott, is it too late or might they be out tonight too? When are the most likely times, or is it a crap shoot?

We could begin seeing them after 10:00 before it was almost dark. It almost looked like the sun was rising in the northeast after it set behind Lolo Peak.
It was WEIRD until I had an epiphany and suggested it might be the northern lights.

Everyone else sitting on our deck with me called BS until it was 11:00 and it looked like the sun was trying to rise in the north east. HAHA. Then they believed me when the sky started to streak a little bit.

One thing I miss about living in Alberta is the northern lights. Shwee was telling my son the scientist about them the other night. He keeps looking into the sky and hoping...... We'll have to take a trip up north I think.

Ya me and the girlfriend watched them last night, proly the 6th time i have seen them in my life(a bonus to living in northern MN), but ya last night about 2 am they were dancin pretty good, very romantic lol;)
