Anyone buy a used ride with hidden problems?

Finally bought a "new" sled. Picked up a 2006 600HO RMK. Was in more of a hurry to purchase it and missed some stuff that should have been noticed. The sled started up, reverse works, and it was driven up onto the trailer, the engine has 120 psi/side. When I go it home I was looking at it and noticed that the handle bars looked, well, not straight. The left side(looking forward from the back of the sled) was a bit higher. Just thought, bars are bent easy fix. Then looked a bit closer at the rear bumper, a little higher on the left side. Oh oh. measured both sides at the same location on the bumper, the right side is about an inch lower then the left. Not good. Started to pull off the side panels and then realized that somebody hit something hard on the right side. The footwell on the right side was beat up pretty bad. The next day had it stripped down to the bare chassis, the only thing on it were the skis. There is a nice crack in the tunnel just behind the right side of the steering hoop support and a dent in the tunnel. The right hand grip heater has broken wires, the coolant bottle neck is stripped, the throttle cable is fraying. I took a day off to calm down and decide what was next. I was more mad at myself because this is stuff I should have noticed and not rushed it. I have since gotten the tunnel welded and the dents pounded out, and have repaired everything that I have come across. The chain case was ok and I am putting in all new bearings, new coolant bottle, throttle cable, repaired the hand heaters(don't know if they work yet). I have basically rebuilt the chassis. I have since talked to the guy I bought it from, this was more a buyer beware thing, it was my fault for rushing it. I have done more work and repairs on this sled then in the 11 years I have owned my 01 600 RMK, and I still have yet to ride the 06 so I don't know how good the clutches are yet or even how it runs. All I need to do now is put the chain case in, the driveshaft and rear skid in, put on the clutches and align them and put the carbs on. Sled is showing 1573 miles on the odometer, and would prefer not to say what I paid for it. At least I know what I have now and is worth what I paid for it. At least it is fixable.
