Anyone been out to Woodlands yet?

Are they charging...

To park there for lunch? get gas? go to the store and buy a water?

I headed up to DS on Monday. Ended up paying for two sleds. Last time I use their facilities. I will just head down the road alittle more and park for free then back track on the trails.

Exactly! The owner was making a big deal about the costs of building a bunch of new cabins so I think he is doing just fine ... I just think he doesn't want sledders taking up space in the parking lot if they aren't paying to stay in his lodge ... I get it, just not going back!!!

Just curious if there is enough snow, has anyone been up there yet?

Oh and BTW - Daniels Summit Lodge is now charging $10/sled to park and the owner said its going up to $20/sled soon ... no more riding and buying my lunch there for me!!!

To answer your question, when you say woodland I assume nobblets parking lot? If so, then yes! It is fantastic up there! Went up a week ago above mill hollow and it was awesome. I would dare say it got even better with our new found snow! Game on!! :face-icon-small-coo

Thanks ibp287, the closest snotel isnt showing that much so I appreciate the report. And yes I meant out of the parking lot, my bad, we just tend to call it all Woodlands. I will post a report later today of how it was.

Mill Hallow area was quite good today. A few feet deep in some of the meadows over 9k, but still needs a little more base to cover everything up in the trees.

Heading up to Daniels later today. Is there a place to park nearby that you don't have to pay for?

Phatty - yes, go past DS, take the road to strawberry marnia. There is a parking lot down there about a half of mile, just past the fish hatchery. It may not be free, but like $7 a truck load.

parked there. Only truck in parking lot. Daniels looked empty too. lots on the north side of the road had quite a few trucks in them.

On a side note, I was surprised at the amount of fresh snow up strawberry ridge. The trails were groomed perfect and there was like 2-3 tracks on some of the berms, but no tracks in the trees, gullys, meadows... its like people never leave the trail up there. granted I didnt venture off trail with my 550 Fan two up sled either but just letting people know there is plenty of pow pow for the taking up daniels still...
