Yes, a little high @ 3K, but still a nice trail sled, even by today's standards. It'll be a good machine for somebody that isn't a hard core ditch banger, when the price comes down. Are today's new machines + $5k better? I don't think so...jmho:beer;

I don't know man, I put a couple miles on a "sit down" style sled this winter. They're probably still good for going back and forth from the fish house but that technology is not even aplicable any more. $5k better???? Guess it depends on the miles you put on each winter and how much it's worth to not have a sore back.

I don't ride one, but did many moons ago. It got the job done just fine and in good shape would do so today. In the ditch is where the new sleds and their chassis perform noticeably better, mostly due to standup and rider forward. Personally I only standup in the big bmps or for launch time. On decent trails that old XC will hang. Even on crappy trails it will hang.

There was a little difference between the Xtra-10 and Edge skids, but virtually no difference beween the Edge and Fusion skids and the IQ is somewhat better yet, depending on which one. In my experience some of the most "back punishing" rides can be found on the latest trail/wannabe Sno-X sleds, if you're not launching them off small buildings in a ditchline, they're suspensions are sprung way too stiff for most.

In terms of saving your back, I'm not seeing a "big" difference from a technology standpoint. Were not talking MotoSki Sonic here. Additionally not everyone can afford $8K -$11K for the latest and greatest "I wish I was Tucker sled"...$2000 for a brand new machine (fresh motor, fresh suspension,etc), with good performance is just the right machine for somebody. BTW I do ride a latest and greatest ditch banger and with clickers backed off for a long trail ride, it rides good but I don't see it being all that much better than the same type of sled (ditch banger) from 10 years ago. Another tidbit; I know for a fact that Polaris went a-arm only because the market went that way, People wanted to see something different. The reality is that they struggled to make an a-arm front-end perform as well as the old t-arm, because it worked and worked better than other mfgs a-arms did at the time. Yeah I know automotive industry proved out the a-arm geometry...I know the arguments.....rant over...happy hour in a few hours..... jmho:beer;
