Anybody using a spot(satellite tracker)?

Anybody using a spot(satellite tracker)? I got one for Christmas and used it for the first time last weekend. It is pretty cool. I can check in with the wife to let her know everything is ok, track your trip on the internet, and request for help if the need should arise. After hearing about people getting lost or hurt in the back country, I think everybody should have one of these. What do you think?

i think its a pretty good idea, would like to get one myself. however i would love to see them combine those features with a normal GPS so you dont have to carry both

I'd be all over one if it wasn't a yearly subsciption. Even quarterly would get me to buy.

Yep I use one everytime I go ride sleds or Wheelers. For the peace of mind it gives my wife and all the less nagging I get when I go ride, sure is worth the $150.

I just ordered one the other day, I was going to wait till somthing came out that has a GPS and Spot freatures. Lots of electronics to carry: Spot, camera, GPS, phone, beacon. Cant wait till the Spot arrives to try it out.

Yep, use mine all the time. Sledding, 4-wheelin, hunting, even on a cruise vacation. Pretty cool.

i live in a small town 120 kms[75 mi] away from the next town, so thers very little cell service in my area, so i use it on sled , quading, on my boat if im on the ocean, even traveling, its worth its weight in gold if u ever have a serious accident or watever outside of cellular service. my wife loves it. ill send two OK messages back to back to my wifes phone and she knows im in my truck , on the way home

Thats what saved the three in the Sparwood avy. They would not have survived the night.

yup...even post the location of the tracks in my sig so if ever there is an issue some of you might be the ones to help...

I even have a conference bridge set up to call in to if I ever hit "help" button, so people can coordinate, and ensure best efforts are handled...

we have even used it to help us find new areas to ride etc.

Our Church got me one for my birthday but I did not pay for the tracking feature because I thought I would just plug the GPS into the computer.

I guess it would be nice for others to be able to see where you are.

We are going to get one for our snowmobile club. We send out volunteer groomers and we want to have something for them in the event that the cat breaks down or some other issue pops up.
