Anybody try the Nextech Float Conversion yet?

I am interested in this for the Nytro, has anybody tried one yet on their Apex/RX-1/Nytro? Any positive/negative feedback? Or should I just get the KMOD?

NEXTECH introduces its new fox float rear skid shock conversion. This is a complete kit to easily replace your stock steel springs and shock with modern air technology. This kit provides a better ride, increased travel, transfer control and adjustment with a 7-10 lb weight reduction. The Kit is available for most mountain models and installs easily using factory arms and tunnel holes. *Shown with optional air reservoir.

good question

I'm also interested in this piece! I would think that with this conversion and replace the other front and rear steel arms with chrome moly you could loose 20lbs pretty easy. Anyone make replacement chromo arms for the stock style rear skid, either front or rear ?

very pricey!

That seems like a lot of money for just a rear fox float, wonder if it would really change how the sled handled.

I agree, big money, better to spend it on a complete float rear skid from Timbersled! for $1400 the money you get a complete lightweight 2 float assembly.
I really have been intriqued by Nextech products, I was going to order a-arms, rails and wheels but prices are to wild for me!
I ended up finding Timbersled, the products are cheaper priced, very good quality, and Allan (owner) has been excellent!

Sorry Nextech.....gotta lower them prices a tad bit!

I went with the Timbersled as well. 2 airshocks, pump, Chromoly Arms, all brackets, shafts etc. Full meal deal and works very well, not to mention the weight it took off my sled. The Nextech kit would probably help controlling the transfer if that's all you are looking for.

I have them on my boosted nytro. What I have noticed is that you can run more pressure and still get more stroke by dialing the turnout. In the front I am now getting full stroke set at only 60 lbs and yet never feels harsh nor bottoms...still working on the rear setting started @ 140 but too stiff and was having way too much fun in the 34" of powder to stop and fiddle...02

adjust the turnout???

Can you explain how your adjusting the turnouts to lengthen the stroke but to minimize harsh feelings?

Its like an extra chamber. You can run less pressure to get a softer ride and yet when the big bump comes up:eek: it will only go so far down and still not bottom. :D Without the res. I would not get as much travel before it got real hard. Now with it I get the full travel before it gets hard...took a while to dial but I like it. Plus I can do all this with less pressure 60 in front and 130 in rear:face-icon-small-win
