Anybody tried installing a booster fan in heat duct?

I have very poor air flow in my mirage ducted furnace heating system. Wondering about installing a booster fan half way down the duct to improve air output. Anybody tried this with success?? I have found some inline exhaust blowers for boats that I think would work. What you guys think??

I use one on my boot dryer. I was going to use it on the duct going to rear but the fan is as load as the furnace. We sleep in our trailer and didn't want to listen to it while sleeping. It does work well in the boot dryer. My trailer stays heated very even. The spray foam floor help a bunch.

How did you go about spray foaming your floor if you don't mind me asking? I'm willing to try anything! Thanks!

I had mine spray foamed. The guy had a hitch made for the loader on his Bobcat. He put a 6"x6" timber under the rear of the trailer and lifted the front up until the trailer rocked back on the timber, got under it and sprayed.

If your duct is 4" this one draws very little and reasonably quite especially if installed inside a duct. It definitely moves some air! You can find them on Ebay for about $40 shipped. Here is where I've gotten a few for behind my gauge lifters that I built a temperature sensing circuit / switch for so they are automatic when the under hood heat reaches a set temp.

He has raised his price but he has added the make offer option, when I bought mine they were $40.00.

The guy who did mine set it on 4 55 gallon barrels. This was my brand new trailer. I told him to call me when he was done. I didn't really want to see my $20,000 trailer sitting on barrels. My first trailer i had a hard time heating evenly but now my new trailer has foam on floor. It heats very easy and even.

Can you tell me how it holds up? How much did it cost?
This will be my first season with it. The guys that did mine does tons of fancy fish houses for a couple of dealers and one manufacturer, so I'm pretty confident it will hold up fine.

I paid him $350.00 cash for 3"-4" of closed cell. Trailer is 7'x22' +5' V.

You might want to check with your owners manual before installing a blower. Don't know which make/model of furnace you have but my Suburban's owners manual states, "Do not install air boosters in the duct system. Such devices will cause the furnace to cycle on the limit and to have erratic sail switch operation."
Just some food for thought.

Mirage boot dryer

I just ordered a Mirage with high mark. Is the boot dryer lame on all of em?

Hope not
