I haven't even left yet for this years trip and I am already thinking about next year. We have been to the Bighorns 3 times, and The Line shack twice. Thinking about going somewhere different next year. The snowies would be a little closer for us to drive, and the Snowy Mountain Lodge looks nice from the website.

Very nice, good food, have gas, no adult beverages, Doo repair trailer onsite, good people

snowy mountain is a great place to stay. good people, good food, good accomodations, bring in your own beverages. they have a pool table in the main lodge & the workers will even have a few with ya. (of course if you help pull their sled out they owe you). centenial is just down the road with plenty of bars if that is what you are looking for. the cabins are really nice & private so you don't have to worry about p*ssin off your neighbors.
all in all great experience. pm me if you need any more details.

Sound good! Thanks for all the input. We can bring our own alcohol, we don't need the bar. Pool table is a bonus though. I have heard alot about encampment, I will have to look into that some more.

what does it matter if he rides a sled. he stays pretty busy taking care of his lodge. Dave the owner does a great job there. will keep going back to snowy lodge. lot of his hired help rides and is pretty good about telling where to go

Stay at Saratoga inn, lots of parking, private hot pools and a happy hour free beer from 4-5p.m. The bartender will let you drink free till 6:00 if you keep ordering and tip well! If you want to stay closer to the hill, stay at the Place or The Randeavoo(not sure I spelled it right). You can ride right out of your room there, 20 minute drive from Saratoga. If you have any questions pm me we are a guide service for up there!

So you have a permit to guide? I seem to recall that all guides require a permit and the Forest Service asks for public comment on guides---hummm

So much for kissin your "arse" good bye-

on snowy mountain lodge...............i dont like the $4.75 gallon of gas, the $10.00 hamburgers and the cabins are not very comfortable.......imo there are alot better places to stay..............also everybody else on the mountain............sells there gas for $3.60 a gallon , dont know why snowymountain cant .............other than just plain greed, and the resturant is usually cold

We stayed there last year. Very nice people! Food is good, they have gas, but no bar.

It was $4.25/gallon a couple weeks ago at The Place, so don't expect to get a deal there either.

Just got back yesterday morning. It was a short trip, left MI friday night, left WY tues morning. 2 blown chaincase's, 1 trailing arm, 1 A-Arm. It was time to go home LOL! Was great riding. Lodge was nice so was the cabin, cabin 5 slept 5-6 guys and had a bathroom and a little kitchen, we always cooked never ate at the lodge. Gas was $4.60 a gal. But we brought cans of fuel up from laramie. Dave the owner is a nice guy, said if you stayed in his cabins during hunting season he would be your guide for free, had some very nice pics of what they shot last year.
