Anybody Running Y-Pipe and RKT Head on M1000?

was thinking about getting an RKT head for 91 octane to go with my speedwerx y-pipe thats awaiting install, anybody done anything like this before? could I tune it with just a fuel pressure reg?(have one on order) its on a 09 M1000 w/MBRP can, im just looking for a simple pull rope and ride setup...

ttt

well ive got a 07 with bdx air box, y-pipe and can with just a fpr but i bought a a/f gauge and controller to monitor and change fuel but didnt use controller just fpr. my machine runs really reliable pull and go. need a a/f gauge i don't need it.

RKT Head

Go ahead and do it. You won't regret it.
I installed the RKT head on my 2009 M1000 LE in early December with 2200 miles on the engine. I already installed the MBRP can, Speedwerx Y-pipe and Shift assist last spring. I replaced the piston rings when the head was installed. I now have 2800 miles. Throttle response was a huge improvement. Running it on Stock fuel pressure, stock air box, stock pipe, stock gearing and stock clutching set with 80 gram weights. I change gear case oil every 1000 miles. Most of our riding is between 2000 and 7000 ft.
The sled absolutely rips.
Pull the rope, let it warm up and ride hard all day.

Where did you purchase it in BC?? What compression??? What price do they run?? I'm in the Prince George Area.

Location

I purchased it from Canadian Power Machines

The head compression changes; depending on what elevations you are riding.
The head I have has a 13.5-14:1 compression ratio. We ride between 2000 and 7000 ft. Smithers Area. The price changes with the Canadian dollar. Give Brian a call, he is very helpful.

Just have a question, is RK Tech. still in business?
Ordered a 44-36 Helix a month ago from Dan's Motor Sports in Salem, Or
he can't get any response from anyone at RKT. No phone call or email
nothing. Just wondering or does he just not respond well??

I sent him a e-mail this afternoon and got a quick response back from him, even though he wasn't going to sell me any thing.

RKT Tek head and clutch are two great mods. Speedwrex y and pipe are great with head. Totally wakes the sled up and adds 25 to 30 hp. You wont regret it.

I've got a Y, intake, can, head, and oil delete on mine with no fuel reg. It depends on fuel PSI, you won't be able to do that on every sled, but if mine runs as good as it does with nothing, I would think that adding a fuel reg if you needed would get you a smooth runner.

FYI, I never ran just Y & head, but know one guy who had Y, head, and porting with no fuel reg (07 ecu), it was a BIT sluggish on bottom but ripped up high.
