Anybody running the latest flash with pipe and PCV on SLP map?

I am curious if I did the wrong thing after reading the 5-6 pages on the "new flash" thread.

I am running the SLP program on PCV and haven't heard much about this combo??

Does your sled run fine? If so, then you should have no worries. the people that run a pipe after the new poo flash without a PC V are the ones that should worry.

It ran fine with the exception that the pipe sensor went out & DET light came on a lot! When I took it in to clear the codes I had them load the new program in it. I am wondering what to expect??

SLP map #

What map # did they load? I run SLP stage 3 with PCV and SLP's MTX clutching with map PN 70-216 on 2010 updated 09 Assault. Around 400 miles at 9000' with updates and it flat out rips. Very smooth and strong through the entire powerband. Important to de-activate the accelerator pump feature above 3000'.

Not sure of the map #, it is the most recent map not the one that came with the update. I have a stage 2 SLP map and have been running it in conjunction with the Polaris 2010 update map untill now, just had the new one updated today!

I have an 09 Assault with all the Updates and SLP Stage 2 and PCV. I was running the 1/14 map before i bought the PCV and it had the mid-range bog and I got the DET light to come on. I bought the PCV to fix this because of what i've learned on these forums.

I was running the Dyno Jim map and no more DET light and no bog. but 0 gas mileage. So i'm going to switch to the SLP map #70-216. I also reflashed back to the original 2010 map because these maps were tuned with the original 2010 map.

Most important things to check when ur DET light is still coming on and your mapping "should" be correct: make sure your TPS sensor is calibrated for your stock ECU and your PCV, if not you'll be reading out of the wrong cell in the map and not feeding the right amount of fuel. Also, clutching, if you are going to run the SLP map with the SLP pipe and Air intake, use their clutching so that you are placing the proper load on the engine, this would also make your controller read out of the wrong cell leading to the DET light. This is stuff I've just learned tonight after talking with SLP and Polaris engineers... makes sense tho

so SLP says the 1/14 map works fine with their PCV map and pipe kit... but I thought it felt fat.

So I switched back to original 2010 map (becauses that is what they tuned against when making their PCV map) and it seems better.

If your DET light is still freaking out, double check that your TPS is calibrated correctly against your stock ECU AND your PCV... if your TPS is out of wack you will be pulling wrong values from your map and DET will come on.

For example: my dad's 800 has a PCIII. We never recalibrated the TPS, when we looked at it, it was at 17% at idle. It should be at 0%. this made it run terrible off the line because it was pulling say 20% @1750 rpm numbers... which is not right... thus it was way off when he was at 6250 rpm because it thought he was 17% higher throttle than he actually was. So carry that through up to 6250 rpm. It might be reading a 0 or 2 out of the PCV map when it should have a 15 or something making the motor lean, then making the DET go off.

Thanks for the info tbd! I had the TPS re calibrated a couple of weeks ago which they stated is was .03V off and it did make a difference in some of the idleng problems I was having.

I will be doing some good testing on Friday so hopefully I won't want to take the sled back to the dealer for the third consecutive week for a re-reflash!

A little info for you. I run a 2010 dragon with the origanal 2010 flash and a pc iii slp map, vforce, slp pipe, high flow intake. In GP if I run shell premium my det light will come on quite often with the ethanol wires plugged in and not at all with them unplugged. If I Esso premium the det light won't come on at all with the ethanol wires pugged in. So they are very fussy for fuel quality if you ahve the origanal flash or pre 01/14 flash. My mileage is great and I have no bog at all. I rode it once without the pc iii and it bogged terrible and the det light came on constantly. Slp says that you can run there map with the newest flash and they are right but it will be alittle off. It will run better with the pre 1/14 flash and the slp Map.

Talking to Jim at SLP today, he said they prefer the original 2010 map with their PCV map.

So what if DUB is operating outside the parameters that the SLP recommended PCV/ECU flash combo is capable to perform at.... then what? What you say? It's not one size fits all? Well that certainly wasn't in the brochure!

TV show "How Stuff Works" would sure be handy about right now.

Pretty much what I expected... Fat in the mid (didn't pull) and fat on top down about 200 rpm.

Maybe I'll wait for teh new DTJ program or go back to the old flash??

In summary:

You have a 2008 800 with SLP exhaust (pipe and can) and some intake thingies?

You have the engine update with good pistons, properly calibrated TPS and idle screw/throttle blade position?

You have the 1/14 Polaris ECU reflash?

You have a PC V with SLP Map 70-216A.pvm?

You have a laptop or netbook with PC V software installed and can "get" and "send" maps?

No DET last time out?

Ethanol wire plugged in or unplugged?

Non-ethanol premium?

Ambient temp where you were riding last?

Did you run the sled after the update parts without the 1/14 flash? With or without the Pipe? With or without the PC V?

Guess that's a typo, my sled in a 2009.

All has been calibrated and updated! Pipe, reeeds, air intake & can..

The sled has been running great with the exception of the DET light headed to the mountain 3-5,000' no matter how I ride it.

The latest flash cured the DET light but the sled just diden't perform very strong, was lazy!

BTW... I always run with the wires plugged in and always run the pipe. I am fairly good about making things work with the exception of these ECU programs!

I have an '08 D8 with SLP pipe, v force, SLP intake, 2010 engine update with original flash, and a PCV with 70-216 map. It rips.
