Anybody remove the rear cast bracket of Powder Trac Boards

I'm thinking of pulling the rear cast bracket off my HD Powder Trac boards for powder coating.

Has anybody tried this and how difficult was this? It looks like there is one rivet and some adhesive.

You have to heat it to get the adhesive to come loose and that might damage the powder coat on the running boards. Maybe if you put the heat on the bracket and use a wet rag on the board to cool it a bit. I recently did some welding close to a bonded area and used that approach and it worked out just fine.
