any you guys ever climb with a 144 or xp 146?

I was wondering do any you guys who have summit 144 or XP 146 tracks ever climb steep/big mountains? I know the 146 is Ideal for boondocking, jumping, cornice drops ect.... I currently got a 162 1000 summit and I want something a little smaller that I can still climb ocasionally and boondock alot easier with. I know a 154 would be ideal but I was just curious of how a summit 144 and xp 146 are climbing and was thinking about getting one. I know it wont climb scary stuff like my 1000. If you can add a picture of your 144/146 climbing and playing that would be cool.

i Have a 146 and i can climb almost as good as my buddies 154 we both weigh the same and our riding skill is very close i personally like the 146 better but if you dont jump very much the 154 is probably the better sled for you

if your skill level is up to it, there is no where a 154 will go that you cant take the 146...

even on the deepest days, the 146 will go everywhere the 154 goes. Plus its much more maneuverable, and all around fun!!! I would take a 146 any day of the week over a 154...

So, what's the purpose for the 154 if a 146 can do everything a 154 can do?

Every sled takes skill. I personally enjoy the 151 rev and 54 in the xp because with the rider forward position you dont notice the length quite as much. I can flip my 151 around with pretty lil ease and Im not a professional by any means. But I ride with a 144 and his track speed can take him almost just as many places. Depends on the snow, sticky snow the 144 works well but in sugary snow the longer track helps. I believe you would be happy with either length. IMO

I have an 04 144 rev and its the smallest track in our bunch the biggest thing i have on people is i weight 160 all my friends i ride with have 151 162 and i climb with and over a lot of them because they all weight 200 + plus you can manuver the shorter track a lot better plus set up is a huge factor and skill!

i ride a 2004 144" and love it. However it may be because of my bad a$$ ninja skills....LOL...Honestly I also own a 154 xp and it will certainly out climb the smaller. I have about 4000 miles on the 144" so I'm used to how it handles in different conditions.

I think a 151" 16 wide would be a perfect track.

I love my '06 144! The last sled I had was an '03 summit 159 and I find the 144 to be way easier to climb and boondock. I weigh around 165 with gear and wouldn't consider going any longer of a track, well, maybe swapping in a 146x2.5". I've ridden 151 Revs as well and there isn't anything wrong with them either. An '05 151 is what sold me on the Rev chassis.

I had an 07 144 Adrenaline last year. Same essential footprint as my 151 15 wide from year before. Ordered XP for this year as a 154 because the 144 just felt like it needed a little more for my weight (225 birthday suit). My buddies ordered 163 and I got to thinking that I have never shortened a track in my life buy lengthened a lot of them and bumped my order to 163. I am so glad I did. I just like the float, especially in all this powder. Go anywhere...don't have to roar into it. I think your weight (and age...me 57 now) mean something. Did I have a blast on my 144? Sure. I had a blast on my 84 Phazer, too. But for going places...light is right and track is good and clutching is essential...and HP...well...never de-horsed an engine. Goose

Yeah what do you weigh?

Big dude=long track

I'll be getting a longer track when I can afford it.

150something...

I'm a big dude 265. But the 144" is still good for most days. But with the TONS of snow we've been getting out here, I've been feeling a bit inadequite lately...

I've own both a 144 and a 154. The 154 will out clime the 144 hands down!!! Last year I had a 151 and it was my favorite. However the XP has grown on me and after setting it up for my kind of riding it's fast becoming my little huckleberry!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like the 146 does well for the smaller guys. What most you 144 or 146 riders weigh? I weigh 190 my 1000 162 is over kill and my mountain max 700 had a 141x15 and I remember it sucked but I think with a new light 800 with a wider and little longer track and a few mods it might just get the job done. What you all think?

hmm, I'm a buckfifty, ride a d8 163..and love it...but I pull 70 gallons of fuel 50 miles into my trapping cabin all the time so longer is better....but love my long tracks.

Im 160 and wondering the same thing, 154 or 146. I have a gen 2 144 right now and want something easier to throw around, but at the same time climb and float a little better. Still on the fence...

I've got a 04 144 and it got me around. But was tired of getting highmarked by my buddies. Went with a 159 and thats def not a problem anymore. Found myself track pouchin a lot with the 144. Trust me, you can still air out a 159 no prob. Longer is better IMO

ahh.. there is a little blue pill that can help you out with that big fella....

remember when a 136 or 144 were "long tracks"? I weigh with gear... hmm, add 10, subtract the taco, + 100, minus the hair.. 230+.. I drive a 146 XP.. some say I do pretty well on the "short track"
