Any where to ride near Kelowna?

My wifes little sister just bought a place near Kelowna and offered it up for us to use in the winter when they are not there. Our group usually rides in Macbride or Valemont, but we would like to find some new areas to go. How far does one have to drive from Kelowna to get to some good riding? Thanks in advance.

There is some GREAT riding in this area.

Do some looking around the area east of Vernon. Hiway 6.

About all I can say. Not a local and don't want to give away any honey holes.

Drop me a line when you get into town and we can give ya the tour. Locally it's Greystokes and Little White (30 mintues from town) but the wicked stuff is out Kingfisher, from there you can do Hunter's Range all the way to Blue Lake (fav). There is also Pinnacle out of Cherryville. Those are all within a 2hr drive and there is more untouched!

Awsome, thanks for the replys. Having good riding close by makes the long drive from Edmonton worth while.

The wife and I have been riding Graystokes just out side of Kelowna for years. It's a beautiful spot but pretty tame terrain, which works well for days with the little woman. This year we're hoping to check out Sicamous but would like to go with someone who knows the area. I'm not the most aggressive rider out there but I know the Graystokes area really well and would be happy to show you around.:smow:

Chernoble and KDF070, thanks for the offer to guide us around. If and when we come up to Kelowna, I will PM you for some tips on how to get to the good riding areas.

For the most part Greystokes is tame, but I can show you area's that are gnarly! Watched an avy get triggered on the back side of Moore. And the farther down the backside you go the steeper deeper it get's! Oh and back side of big white has some nice hits......

Back side of Moore Mtn has generated quite a few dollars for local helicopter companies.....and can be very unstable at times. Good spot to stay out of.....at least the way I ride.

Also a kelowna local here, lots of good areas as mentioned above.. Also there is the Coquihalla summit which offers some good riding, about 2 hours from kelowna. Needless to say Revy is just over 2 hours away as well, tons of good riding around! sicamous is great if you dont want to drive quite as far.. hope you enjoy BC's best ;)

snowed thurs pm in the mtn's around town. Went up fishing behind Winfield Friday and drove in 3in of fresh stuff, first tracks :face-icon-small-coo Snowed all day on & off. Went up behind the connector saturday and thurs. snow is still in most places. Won't be too long now :face-icon-small-hap
