Any way to dimple tunnel sheetmetal easily?

I have an 06 M7, I want to add an 06 crossfire rear cooler to my sled for more cooling since I run in in the flats as well as in the mountains. I Found a cooler I want to buy but here's my dilemma. I have a Craiggerbuilt gas rack I will be mounting to the tunnel. The crossfire cooler will not sit flush against the tunnel with the craigger gas rack installed- the machine screw heads will keep it from sitting flush against the tunnel sheetmetal.

I would like to dimple the metal just enough so the screw heads are recessed so the cooler sits flush against the tunnel. Anyone have any suggestions how to do this?

pretty easy..get 2 small peices of 1/4 in plate...drill a hole the size you want the outside of your dimple to be thru both plates...using long v-grips or c-clamps position over the spot(1 on each side) clamp in place and take a small ball peen hammer and tap down the metal in your hole...with a little practice their isnt much you cant make,.......

Take a short 1/4 or 3/8" ipe nipple so it has a little tapper on one end. Run a long bolt through it and up through your tunnel. Put a little larger socket on the bolt, add a washer and nut and tighten until you have the amount of indent you want.

You could also countersink the holes. it fits in your drill and makes remove just enough metal for the screw heads to fit flush with the surface.

Use a chevy rocker arm ball and pipe that the ball will just fit inside of. Place the ball in the spot the dimple needs to be,insert a bolt through the ball and the hole in the tunnel for the rack, place the pipe on top of the tunnel with it centered over the hole, place a thick flat washer on top of the pipe, place nut on bolt ,and tighten until the desired dimple is formed >>>>
