Any turboed xp's out there

just wondering if there are many around and how you like them. Next year for me maybe.

I've heard carbs and two-stroke turbos aren't that great of a combonation, which is probably why you don't hear much about turbo XPs. Saw a kit on DooTalk about a month ago though where they installed a fuel injection system on an 800R with a turbo, sounded like that ran alright, spendy though....

I rode with a guy (won't say his name or company) who is testing one yesterday, and I am telling you it was mind blowing!
I can't say who's kit it is because it is still being tested, with a lot of trouble free miles on it already. Looks like finally we might see some reliability. Hint... it's not a areo charger. I'm sure there will be pic's and videos of it before long. About 25 of us were watching a head to head race up a 30 percent hill against a turbo apex. About a foot of powder on hard surface. They did about 4 runs being neck in neck, the doo taking a couple by a hair. They then did a few runs with the Apex running a bit higher boost 17 psi... The XP running 7psi. Still the results were very close.
All I can say is what a amazing light weight powerhouse. Can't wait to see it in production. :clock:

Has anyone heard anything about the 800 being E-tec on the 2010 models? I was talking to a dealer about getting an 09 XP. He told me he has heard through the grapevine that they woudl release an 800 E-tec next year. That would be huge for ski doo guys wanting a turbo 2-stroke.

The doo dealer here says no way. BNG next year and a cool copper colour. Pick up you 09's now for 3-4 g's less.

I dont think that the xp will eat all the apexes out there or big hp sleds but these babies rock. On top end they are hard to hold on to. I have not personally rode with a turboed apex but some of my customers have reported back , "there wasn't a boosted apex with us that could take us!" I know what alot of guys are saying right know. It is a carb sled, they dont run. Or he just sells the kits so he will tell anybody that. Or this tread will turn in to a bashing session. These are just the facts and truth. Xp's are awesome boosted!

Yes they also do take a bit to get dialed in because the carbs are such a mother to get in and out.:D

Carbs, turbos, and twostrokes work excellent together, better in fact than where they are at right now with fuel injection, I have been running a turboed 700 polaris for seven years now works great not finiky pull the rope and go.

09 XP turbo

My ridding buddy just got an 09 XP turboed with a Areo 53 and inter cooled. Since every machine is different they do take some tuning and it does suck to get to the carbs, but none the less, it's still a fun sled. He is running a Absolute Power & Performance/Boostworx Kit. Very nice install.
