Hey does anybody have any hints for getting the center section out of the exhaust housing on a Garrett 2860? I have all the bolts out but even tapping it with a rubber mallet doesnt budge it. Any help would be great.
No they are not pressed in. They are a tight clearance built up with heat cycles and rust. You will have to get more aggressive with it. You should be able to turn the intake and the exhaust when the bolts are out. Good luck. Shad
I would soak it with penetrating lube or try heating the housing with a torch and some forcing will getter done. They are just seized and rusted together
