Any suggestions on carbides/wearbar?

I need new carbides for my 03 Mtn. Max and i'm kinda confused. I need the whole assembly so i'm guessing that would be the wearbar with the carbides on them already. I've always just called the whole thing the carbide. Anyway, i'd like to have a nice set that doesn't dart and hold the trail good even though i'm not on the trail much. Any help would be great appreciated as in length of carbide, degree etc. I'm kinda think woodys doolys but my research has kinda come up with i need studs in my track which I don't have. Sno-stuff x-calibar....Thanks!

Suggestions..anyone? Stick with stockers or? 4",6",8" I mainly ride deep powder but i'm looking for something with good control on the trails.

worn out skeg

This is what my left skeg looks like after 1 year of riding, sometimes on dry pavement, frequently on dry pavement at the gas station.

The right side doesn't look as bad.

I am unrelenting when it comes to riding in town, even if there is little snow, since it's so much easier to get to my riding area than dealing with the truck/trailer/parking...

I ordered a set of 8" bergstrom skegs today to replace my worn out stockers. I believe they come with the ski saver metal piece to protect the keel of the ski. The fellow I talked to also said to turn the rubber bumpers in the saddle around and to add a 1/4" shim at the back, which I've read about here before.

They were a little spendy, but I told him I ride on pavement and the 8"ers were his suggestion, due to track length, abuse, etc...

Hopefully I'll see them next week as now I'm back to trailering...

still a waitin'

Still waiting for delivery of mine, will give him till mid week then I'll call to make sure they went out. No new snow on the roads in the last few days so it really doesn't matter...although I am getting tired of fighting the left side with no grip...

Yeah, took a while.

I ordered them sometime around the ninth and they got here today. The guy I spoke with on the phone said there were some other orders that would go out before mine, so I expected it to take a little while for them to get here.

I am impressed with the construction they seem bomber, certainly far more substantial than the stockers. The plastic ski savers seem like a reasonable deal and can't hurt. Installation was a snap. Included in the package were some shims for the ski rubbers but I didn't feel like taking off the skis today so that will have to wait.

I wasn't on any groomed trails so I can't comment on darting, tracking or anything like that, but on my way out of the riding area I was on today, I was sitting down being lazy which seems to make steering tough and I did not have to use as much effort to get the sled to go where I wanted. The snow was packed and I was doing maybe 20mph.

As long as they tolerate some dry road abuse I'll be happy. It hasn't snowed here in about 10 days so maybe tomorrow I'll tear up the town's pavement with them.

I must say they look very menacing.

ordered some wearbars from Scott today. Said he'd send them out today, Friday at the latest. Threw in the ski savers and shims for free. Don't think i'll install the shims either. Don't know there purpose and don't really want to take the ski off either. 22 dollars for the pair, 8 dollar shipping! Can't beat that. Yeah, we haven't gotten any snow here for a while now too. Don't think i'll ride tomorrow but Friday I think i'll go out. Lemme know how you like those wearbars.
