Any suggestions? We're looking at a trip to Rabbitt Ears. What the best way to get there from southern MN? How about lodging? Planning on arriving on Feb. 27. How are the current conditions? How about good guides? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff

The conditions are excellent! Got dumped on last week/wknd. If the weather is good and roads are good go to Laramie and then take 130/230, snowy range road exit and follow 230 to Colorado through Walden and then take a right. You will come out just below the pass. Left takes you to Kremmling and right takes you into Steamboat. Otherwise, head to denver and take 70 west. Take the exit into silverthorne/dillon when you come out of the tunnel, take a right and head to Kremmling. The arlington inn in Kremmling is nice and reasonable. Otherwise Rabbit Ears Motel in Steamboat is nice, sledder friendly, and reasonable. Steamboat is like 15 minutes from the top and has alot to offer. Kremmling is 40 minutes or so and smaller. Cool town though.
Not sure on guides other than Burandt. Bushmaster on here lives at Muddy Creek lot, he might take you out. Ok, doesn't actually live there but almost:face-icon-small-hap If you need any other help pm me with your number and I'll give you a shout.

I've only ridden out of Buffalo Pass.. it's north of the ears a few miles and gets more snow. You can ride across to the ears easily. Hang a right off the highway at the Coalmont sign. Take the left fork a ways up which puts you on gravel, or as it's been lately, snow.. They're not real good about keeping the parking lot plowed open up there and there are lots of truck/ trailer bombholes off to the side of the road.
