any secrets on seperating secondary sheaves on xp

want to take 60tho off of secondary so i can have more belt adjustment, how does one remove the hard tq screws and is their any special tools to remove or install, is it a fair basic job?? thanks

Install the plastic secondary adjuster so it doesn't spring apart on you. Then lightly heat the black torx bolts and remove. Piece of cake.

I would not try taking the XP's QRS secondary apart using the black plastic adjuster to hold it as the purple spring in the thing is close to 8"'s long(225/303 lbs). SkiDoo, Dalton and Goodwin all make a tool for taking it apart. Heating the torx bolts a bit and waiting for clutch to cool a bit between each one (so you don't wreck the bushings with overheat) and then I used a hand impact driver you hit with a hammer and a brand new 3/8" inch socket torx bit to get them loose the first time. Taking the four out the first time chewed up the torx bit a little but the bolts were still good. Just use blue loctite for reinstall and they will be easy to get out down the road.

Good Luck
