Any reviews on M8 SLP "Performance Package"

Sled is an 09 M8 153 SP with only the SLP single. Personally feel only a minor gain compared to stock. IMO there is still a lot of room for improvement with this engine. The pipe really woke up my 07 M8 but the 09, not so much compared to its performance out the box.

Anways, budget wise this mod would be easy to swallow, or at least a control box. A pump gas turbo might be just a bit much at this time. I live for deep powder days and would like to be able to get more than just 2/3 up the mountains on those days.

How much do you weigh? You would think that the 09 with the powerclaw track and fox air shock suspension, ie significantly lighter would be better climbing than your 07 with same slp pipe setup? Have you thought about increasing air intake through some of the mods available? I recently got the same sled and am currently figuring out what to do with it, but mine came with a speedwerx pipe & y pipe, which I hear builds better power than the slp pipe setup. I'm gonna open up the air flow a bit and speedwerx gave me recommended boondocker box settings, so we will see how it goes.

I run the full slp performance package and it rips. I ran just the pipe for most of the season and than had slp port the cylinders, do head mod, and installed the power commander III and it is amazing. It runs much better than it did with just the pipe. I also had slp install the 74G mtx weights, setup for 8-10K, Yellow/green 160/310 primary spring, 44/36 helix with the stock orange cat secondary spring, and had both clutches balanced. I love the way it runs now!!!

Hey kool-Aid, how have yeah been. Bill at adrenaline powersports in Sacramento has done the complete slp exhaust for several people and have had awesome results! Good luck and looks forward to riding that beast next winter.:beer;

My engine parts should be done at SLP this week.

My new 09 M8 153" Sno Pro came from the dealer with a brand new SLP pipe so, instead of starting over with another brand of pipe, I just went with SLP for my porting and head needs.

MPM or RKT porting and head work may be even better (and they sure sound like great guys) than what SLP offers but, I didn't want to have to spend another $500+ to start over with another brand of pipe.

The cool thing about the SLP package is the engine still looks stock. There's no aftermarket head to give away that you have been "messing" with things inside the motor. So, it allows your sled to be a sleeper (with just a pipe).

Exactly! One of the main reasons why I'm leaning that way.

Willis- Doing good brother, I'll start logging into WCS more next season and we'll hook up for some rides.:beer;

There's a dyno run under the "description" tab. The kit reportedly makes just a hair under 170 hp. SLp told me they could get a tad bit more out of the motor but, with oxyegenated fuel and elevation drops this kit is their best shot at the most power you can make reliably, AND they arguably have never had an engine failure attibuted to the kit.

The other good thing is, the porting and headwork are 10% off right now.

You can elect to not buy everything at once (like the air intake, V Force, Cluctch kit, etc but, my guess is you'll be leaving performance on the table if you chose to do so.
