Any place to ride near I-15 between Idaho Falls and Dillon Mt.?

Ill try this again, as the title states, is there any riding near the highway between Idaho Falls and Dillon Mt? Looking to meet a fellow snowester and sell a sled, just hoping to put it on the snow before finalizing. Thanks

Spencer. It's the place along the interstate between Dubois and Monida that has the opal store. You can ride from there East toward Kilgore(8 miles) up to Mt Jefferson (20 miles).

The Stoddard Creek Exit #185 will get you a little higher and in some better snow. I will try to get a condition report from my cousin who has a cabin in Spencer.

conditions on monida pass never change... always wind blown hard packed snow... plus thats only 1 hour for him and 4 hours for you.

I would make him meet you in pocatello and ride up by pebble creek resort... that way its about 2.5 hours for each party

Should be plenty of snow there to ride on and a hill or too for them to feel the turbo!

thanks for all the info fellas.
looks like plans may have changed. possible boise/mcall area. one of us heading from slc, other mt/canada border.

ok, looks like I-15 is it, no BOise side. Im assuming the stoddard creek exit #185 is on the Id side? If I get off there and head west how obvious will it be when I get to an area to ride?? Other rigs parked?
thanks again

I see an exit 184 on google map is this the place??

Just 1 mile north of Spencer is the Stoddard Creek exit, there is a parking lot on the West side of I-15. It is usually plowed, if not you can park
about anywhere there, no houses etc to worry about. Usually best to
head East from there, cross under I-15 and take a right for a couple
hundred yards, then road curves left, crosses RR tracks and creek.
If there is enough snow you can start some hill climbs right there
or open it up on a couple of fairly straight sections of trail. If snow is marginal, bear right about a 1/4 mile past the RR tracks and wind your way up a small canyon where there is usually some good deep stuff (enough to
try a sled out in anyway.
Hope this helps.

If you have the time, follow the main trail East over Porcupine Pass
to the headwaters of W. Camas creek for some very good riding!
