I need to cool the engine down a few deg. under long hard pulls, anyone have any experince, with these products in a their sled??? Engine Ice or Maxima Cool-Aide. I know- I know ya can`t run em wide open for ever, but when your scared ya just can`t let go sometimes, your just hangen on. Any info please---thanks Ken---PS. I had a friend tell me were on the down hill go till winter.!!!!

i run redline water wetter in all my sleds and cars ive never had one overheat but on a sled if you are in decent snow and the sled is getting hot id richen the mixure up a little

I used to have problems with my Viper heating up and spilling coolant while riding the trail on the way up the mountain. I changed the coolant to engine ice and have not had any cooling problems since. I also used it in a Banshee with good results as well. That being said if you are getting plenty of snow on the heat extangers you may want to look at getting more fresh air under the hood too. - Hope this helps.

Running the amount of race fuel as you do probably add to your heat!

I got it from a very reliable source, (Red Dog)! Not that I am trying to stir things up!

Run red line in my classic cars, works good in parades whent hey sit at idle and just heat up. Works pretty good, never tried it in the sled yet but might have to this year.

I'm a big fan of Engine Ice. I have it in my motorcycles and sleds. Noticeable difference in operating temps in most cases. Water wetter works well too, but I don't think quite to the extent of switching to the Engine Ice. Hope that helps.

used water wetter in the past but didnt notice any measurable difference.

Maybe a supplemental cooler. Here's another thought, did you remove or trim your rear flap?

I run it in my Outlander...helps a lot when the rad is plugged with mud.

You MUST get every trace of regular (green) antifreeze out prior to running Engine Ice as the fluids are NOT compatible and will make a goopy plug if mixed. Drain, flush with water, drain, flush....a few times...then put in the EI.

I do not run it in the sled as the anti-freeze properties aren't quite good enough for an Alberta winter. No, I don't usually ride at that cold....but it COULD happen.

--Well that would be yrs ago, now it`s just 92 oct. and away I go. So see he wasn`t wrong, just late. Now adays it seems, when ya add a head or Y pipe, were hittng the water heat temp sensor, on the XP, then it adds fuel and cuts timming. Not a good thing.------------Thanks for all the help guys!!!---Ken

What can I say I'm always late even for my wedding:D.And that sl*dhead6 is a pot stirring.Hopefully some of theses respones's help. I alway's ride deep powder so not much in the overheating dept sorry I could not help. Cheers Red Dog

--Ya I try and stay out of any powder over my ankles, no getten stuck for this green horn. This is not really over heating, just bumping the program temp set to give me extra fuel I don`t need and less timming then I want. Ya know Red Dog I`m just trying to keep ya in sight, BIg Guy.---Ken

I use a water wetter and it has helped drop the coolant temps by probably 8 or 9 degrees. If you are loosing power on long pulls, lowering your coolant temps will help but your whole engine and clutches are probably just getting heat soaked. My sled would do that bad until I got the mesh hood and now I can hold the long pulls in the deep snow for a much longer time before I start feeling the power drop from heat soak.
