Any one paying attention ?

I am. Been saying all along this is how its going to go. The wheels are already turning on how I could buy the center rail shorten it and build custom cromo arms for my bike. Then I could get real suspension too.

you think the boys at cat may have spent time with Camso engineers.........................or who know who dreamed up the idea.......cat may have paid Camso to throw those things out there for a year or two.......see what happens, you know iron out the first wrinkles.

Gonna be a fun time going by all these guys parked with the rail bent over next year. It’s a great theory but a 750# sled and rider with 170hp is a lot different then a 60hp and 500#. We had a ton of trouble bending XM rails back in the day so it’s about to be that again.
Yeah it’s a big extruded strong rail but sledders can break anything and the amount of force landing at an angle is known to be more than you think. Great design though!

Should be 460 pounds they say..... Also my dts has held up just fine to 110 with my turbo at altitude... So we will see.

Well something had to come from the svx 450

With the svx on the shelf , they are modifing a sled to feel like à snobike , next year we may see à single ski

About time. I hope it makes arctic cat competitive again. It’s been so long (2010) that I literally don’t even know anyone who rides one.
Looks promising!

I think the obvious benefit aside from handling is the weight loss. Sled manufactures have gotten sleds down about as low as they can so to come up with a design that sheds 15 pounds off the rear is significant. The technology will be an even bigger benefit on a bike where all kinds of extra HP isn't available on tap. On a bike weight is the enemy of performance. Will we see 15 lbs off of a bike kit, likely no but 10 isn't out of the question, it really comes down to what they make the arms out of. As I've said before I really like the Camso monorail, BUT ...., the torsion suspension leaves a lot to be desired, this set up will allow real shocks on a monorail. Real track, real shocks, monorail, belt drive, good tunnel sides design, sign me up. Winner.

It will be interesting to see it unfold. I read an article on the new Alpha. It did mention that in certain snow condition a dual rail would work better. Hard layer with fresh on top I believe is what it said. I'll wait and throw a leg over it hopefully before the season is over and see if its as good as they make it out to be. Not a big fan of the glued and riveted from arm attachment. Would of rather seen a bolted piece. These mono rails need some real shock options. The Camso kit doesn't exactly scream awesome ride and suspension performance. Hopefully Cat offers some coil shocks instead of the Floats on the new Alpha.

Here is then link to the article:

That's a pretty good article. We were talking amongst ourselves about a point which that article brings up a couple of weeks ago. One difference that we noticed flipping back and forth between the Camso and the Timbersled was you can feel how the Camso creates more more forward drive. You would expect that just based on the paddle design alone so it makes sense. The thing is the most obvious place the difference shows up is when you have the bike leaned right over as in doing a donut. You can power out of the turn on the Camso where between the skis and the track the TS will just plow and wash out.

The monorail benefits the performance in more ways than just side to side handling in the trees and on the trail. I was skeptical at first but it really suits my style and needs.
Lets face it a bike will only create so much track speed. You could make your track 3" wide, start in 5th gear and see great track speed but not go anywhere. The reality is we spend most of our time in 2nd and 3rd, our track speed is limited by our power and gearing so optimizing snow movement at relatively slow track speed is what a snowbike really needs. If not allowing the track to bend over helps that why would you not want it on a bike?

In an effort not to sound like a Camso fan boy, they have a great idea that is far far from perfected IMO.

The hybrids are coming.

Yup, the revolution/evolution-progress, is happening, like it or not.

I'm just glad I have some good years left in me to both enjoy and see all the changes. I realize how lucky the younger guys that are making some $$$ are that will be able to ride all the good stuff for longer than I will be able to.

Already running a 154 , the Hawk would be wicked with a mono rail . But there's a slight problem , I have no tunnel to mount the rear linkage to with out jerry rigging it .

Life is such a B----

Any bets on this skid outselling all the bike kits combined ?
