Anyone riding at 10,000ft with a modified m1000 with a three tower clutch? I am thinking i should be able to run heavier weights then 76s with stock spring. running 7700 rpm. Have a torsional con kit with 40/36 helix with red spring motor is a claimed 210hp motor. Does this sound right?

h/c head
ported cylinders and case
SW y-pipe,pipe Mbrp can
Bdx valve delete
Bdx light drive 56/64

weights sound about right, we run between 77g with stiffer primary spring, green/white (not sure whos) or 74g stock spring. seems like we usually run the same weight as ac recommends for a stock sled at that altitude but we are pulling more rpm.

here's what i was running last spring..10k+
3-tower
80g cat weights--stock white/yellow ti 122/285-----60/60 gear--belts lasted 5x longer, but lost 400rpm in da deep--never saw more than 7240 on trail

last ride end of day......top rpm 6800-6900ish.....so i changed everything..

now running:
76g adjustables --yellow/green ti 114/267--new gears 55/65.......waiting to test in freshies...

whatta ya think?

I would go back to the stock spring or bring it with you.

can ya guess why? or elaborate?......

You dropped weight which will up the rpm, but then you dropped the spring rate which will lower rpm, putting you right back where you started. If the primary is pulling to hard it will put to much load on the secondary. If you are running the stock pipe you want your rpm to be 7200-7400. So keep the spring and just take it with you and if your not pulling r's you can throw it in and if nothing else you will learn how much difference there is or isn't.

First question, what head are you running. Do you know the squish clearance or the compression ratio?

well, i took your advice.......ran stock ti primary spring 122/285 and 76.3 grams in primary...........ran 7250-7400ish, but no zing and slow upshift.
testing at 10,800ft 3ft of base, 3 feet of pow on a 22 deg hill....

removed weight, ran 75.0 grams and whoaa..it started pulling skiis uphill in powder! pulling 7450-7520, settling around 7500ish.... all day long, running like never before.given the sled is now back to cat cluthcing for 10k, the biggest difference is the gears 55/65 and the fresh 09 primary using a 046 belt. track speed could be more, but very happy so far....ave 35-40 mph in 5ft of snow

thnx guys!

ttt.........hey modm1000.......we ride the same hills, LOL....pm'd ya!

i would think your pretty close. or making less than 210hp...closer to 195?
since i'm seeing high 7450 to 7520, i'll wait to drop weight. If anything maybe try a fresh spring with similar#'s 122/285..

any suggesions for a diff spring?

stock motor, stock compression
SWypipe, stock pipe, can
bdx intake
dd lite 55/65 and ceramic rotor
logic box running 0-0-2.5, trim at -2
75gr adjust, no weight stock ti pri
stock 2ndary, 1 3/8 deflection

Throw away the ti spring they are thicker and have been known for binding, install a 44/36 slp helix(and a shift assist if you don't have one) and it will get a lot snappier. your tach could be off a little, what is the target rpm for that pipe 7500 seems low but that is where my 07 like it with the slp.
