Any lockset gurus in the house?

I picked up a Schlage commercial lockset (model B563) on the weekend and began installation in the door. Unfortunately the door I'm installing it in doesn't allow me to use the standard latch plate.

Here is an example of what I mean (this is not the same lockset)

The instructions show an "optional purchase" if you don't want to use the latch plate supplied. I need a press in one like the drawing below:

I can't get a hold of anyone useful at Schlage to get a part number or even a source for this thing.

Help me, oh Snowest gods of renovation!

It appears that you are looking for number 33. That should come with the lockset. If it did not then take it back and get one that is complete.

Sorry, I'm looking for #33. It is NOT included with this lockset. The instructions show it as "additional purchase". I went back to the store and checked another box, it's not included and their staff had no idea where to get one.

That's what I get for buying it at Home Depot. If I can't find this part, I will end up cutting the door and welding the supplied latch plate into the door.

Close, the ring isn't the correct opening size. I called a pro locksmith place today rather than the box store. Should have gone there in the first place. I should be all set up tomorrow.

Backset 101, next time you will make sure you have the right one.

The backset is fine, it's the door that doesn't work with the latch plate. I had no way of knowing until I drilled some holes.

Commercial application without a latchplate??

Sounds like your door is not commercial.

5 minutes and it would work. I think princess auto has the router attachment for some ridiculous low price.
