I'm running the SSI 950 on my -14 M8000. Built it last winter and got around 180 miles on it.
Engine:
SSI 950 with low alt head.
Complete Jaws exhaust with trail can (For 925/950)
Boyesen rage cages with stock TB.
Mountainfithood headlight delete with intake (BDX Style)
PCV with timing control and BDX low alt tune
PC auto tune with POD-300 (Log AFR / temp and RPM) for tuning.
KOSO EGT.
Drive train:
21/49 gearing (Hyvo gears and chain)
Team tied secondary with 71-55.36 and 160/260 spring.
Promag weights @ 81.9g and SSI spring in the primary.
2.6" Power claw track.
Run on 91 (93 if i can find it) at sea level here in Scandinavia.
Compared to my brothers Lynx boondocker 800 Etec or Ported full bolt on Pro Rmk, its not even close. Not only is it way more powerful on top, but the midrange is just unreal.
I don't have any experience with other BB for this engine. Did however have a TSS turbo on the sled before the 950. I would say the 950 is equal or more powerful compared to the turbo at 10-11 PSI. (Lower comp, pump gas at sea level) The difference is that the 950 have all that power available from the second you grab the throttle. Its a night and day difference how the sled behaves.
I'm still working on the tune but i'm getting close to were i want to be. The tune i got was for the SSI pipe and 52mm TB.
Unless the engine fails i will run it this winter to before i disassemble it and have a look at the pistons.
Installing a MVM belt drive to for this season, with a bit lower gear ratio. Clutch calibration will probably have to be addressed as well.
