its 349-7568, looked it up in the phone book. Asked him how much to rebuild the fox float's and he said 110.00 per shock and that they were "junk" lol, this guy has great customer service, I just hope his shock rebuilds are better. thanks for the info !!

He has rebuilt several shocks for me and all is good. The float shocks may cost more to rebuild, are the parts might be more, because Ive never paid that price.

I brought a shock into cal to get rebuilt. I bought the shock off the internet and after i brought it to him i learned that it was a piece of junk kind of shock and instead of screwing me by just doing a rebuild he told me the truth. I never ended up getting any work done by him but he was pretty straight forward on the shock deal. His prices did seem a little high.

FYI, a Float is no different internally than any other Fox shock. Same shaft, piston the shim stack. Even the aluminum body is much the same with a different cap that requires a spanner. The Float requires only 3 extra seals for the air body, thats it. They are just a easy, if not faster to rebuild than the standard Fox shocks.

One tip on the floats is to add the supplied air chamber oil at the beginning of, and at least one time during the season. The oil is very important to the longevity of the air chamber seals. Read the supplied instructions. ;)

Cal lives over the hill from me. We have taken our shocks to him, and he gives his honest opinion, he knows he stuff and his prices are fine! Dealerships charge you a lot more to re-valve them, than what Cal does. good guy.:)

If you call Cal be perpared for a ear full of how much of a piece of **** shock you have and they dont work at all here. I called him to see how much to rebuild be Walker Evans and that is all he said for 5 mins is how much of a pieve of **** shock it was, along with the Fox float and that he didnt even want to do it cause then his name would be on it. He sounds very honest lol, but also very opinionated. But I have heard that he does good work

So anyone other than Cals do good shock work? I need two Doo race shocks shortened a 1/2" and the KYB's from my Expert-X revalved.

Nickoli, you can try Marty Mobley out in the valley...I here he is one of the best shock guys around..have never used him but thats the word...

yeah martys prices are good and so is the work, he has been doing it for a while. good guy to work with, he does it all .he does most of my work when i dont have time to do it myself but yeah he specializes in shocks.

Maurita Sea & Ski also rebuilds shocks. Have used them Cal and Marty. Marty does great work, worth the drive to the valley. I don't know if there is a shock made that Cal actually likes. If so I don't have one, but he does good work. Maurita also did good, stuck to thier quote and had them done on time. Yes, Marty Mobley is AK Sled and Cycle, should be in the Valley phone book.

I'm actually using Jeff Miller from Miller Marine. I completely forgot about him. Awesome guy and extremely knlowedgable. He helped me with some Rev electrical issues a few years ago and was very helpfull. If anyone wants his number PM me, he's doing sled work out of his garage now.

I tried Dan Ryznar last winter, did not hold up worth crap on my WE's. They looked good and didn't leak until they were installed and the temp dropped.
