Looking at some property that has had some serious excavation done in response to a lawsuit. Previous owners had a wet area half way down the hill even during dry times. The apparent cause was a kink in the tile. Essentially the hydrostatic pressure would back up, but it was not great enough to cause water in the basement, and slowly leak around the area that was kinked, which was about 20 yards from the house.
The previous owners claimed this wet area was compromising structural integrity of the dwelling. Short story, they settled with the insurance company, an guy who owns an excavation company bought it and buttressed the hill. It was during this work that they discovered the non-functioning tile.
I met with the guy who owns the house and excavation company this AM and his report and description seem reasonable. As an initial step would like some one in the field review a few parts of the report.
PM me if you would be willing to review a report regarding the work performed.
thanks
