Any body ever try longer limiter straps on their M1000?

I have an 09 M1000 sp, I moved the front skid down a notch, and played with my air shocks. I just caint get it as light up front as my old M1. Still seems front heavy on side hills with little fresh stuff. I thought about getting a little longer straps? has any body tried this? Any thing i should worry about?
P.S. I have my front skid shock- Spring as tight as it will go.....

do you have an anti stab kit on there? Oh and also have you read that post about the dog bone that is missing in the front of the bulk head in order to tie the lower a-arms together? That dog bone is under $5. The only reason I ask is I just got a new 09 M10 and these are some of the things that I have found. As for the heavy feeling front end I am not sure about the fix yet, I am still playing around and trying things.

Do they have the bracket up inside the tunnel on the '09's that you can drill out to drop the front of the rear suspension mounts lower? Makes a HUGE difference in making the front-end of the sled feel lighter if you can do this. Mine is an '08, not sure on the '09's

Yea, I read that about the dog bone. prolly get that also, however its the ski pressure that has me stumped. The dropping of the front skid helped, but with this lack of snow in north idaho, its hard to tell if it cured it. NEED POWDER! NEED IT BAAAAD!

Aaron, yes they do and did it....it did help. My old 1m 900, i could sit it on the garage floor and 0 effort to turn the ski's. sled rode awsome. after i dropped the M1000 skid, it made a diff, but still quite a bit of ski pressure.

with your front skid shock tight it will trench like a bee-atch, tried it and got stomp by a m7. 3/8" or less preload on the front skid is all you want.
Loosen up your front shocks.

When I had my front shock tight and 120 psi in the rear shock I could tail walk pretty good. Tightened my limiter straps to the middle hole, 155 in the rear shock, 3/8 preload in the front shock as WYOBOY told me, and now the ski pressure seems the same but it gets on top of the snow much better. Seems to keep the skis off of the ground about 8-10 inches instead of 1-2 feet when climbing. Much better!

i fixed mine

SLP can and move the skis all the way in. Made a world of dif. God i love this sled!

Even with my sled set up the way I recommend, I have still pulled hills with my skis 2-3ft in the air (depending on the base) and came over backwards a few times. Its just how the skid was built to work.
