Any appliance repair pros on here? - Gas dryer Q

Maytag Neptune gas dryer. Probably about 5-6 year old dryer.

Clothes take forever to dry. Pulled the skin off and watched the element heat up and then the gas valve opens and the burner turns on. The problem is that the burner only turns on for like 5 seconds, then abruptly shuts off.

It stays off for about 45 seconds, then the element turns on and the burner lights again for 5 seconds then it shuts off. Over and over again.

I took a vacuum cleaner and vacumed the combustion area, and checked the vent for any obstructions. There are none.

Somebody told me that it is probably a gas valve solenoid coil that probably went bad. (That sounds to me like the term "Porting your chaincase")

Any other direction I should look or any tests that I can do with my meter to test for a bad X_____________(Insert item here)

X2, The flame sensor verifies that the gas is lit. The gas is being shut off because the sensor isn't giving the proper signal to keep it on.

I just had to put a new belt on my Maytag drier. It's an electric one and was the first work that I have had to do to it. I bought this and the matching washer with my first ever credit union loan back in 1976. Ken....

Could also be an over temp/High limit sensor. Not sure where that would be located however.
