Anti Ratchets, Rail Tips, HELP!

Installed anti ratchets on my 06 900 RMK. I also installed the "Anti Stab" kit as well. I have already cut the rails off at least an inch if not more and have cut and rounded the front's of my plastic rail tips. When my suspension is flat I have a few inches of room between the rail tips and the driver's. But when I stick a big log under the front of my suspension and it compresses I only have less than a 1/4 inch of room between the rail tips and and drivers! I'm puzzled on what to do next and don't wanna ride it in case iI hit a big bump or jump it and my suspension compresses and my rails jam into the driver's and do some damage. I don't think there is much left to cut off the rails before I start running into issues. Any suggestions or input is greatly appreciated! I will try to post pics on here but if you would like to see the pics I took I can email them.

when Ive done this in the past I cut the rails back so I cam modify and run the anti-stab kit through the plastic rail tip. the kit pretty much eliminates the need for the plastic ends so i think you can just cut them back until there is enough clearence.

what pitch drivers do you have? when i installed 3" pitch drivers i had to cut 1" off the rails and i also set the suspension back 1.5" to get enough clearance. and like said above you dont need the rail caps with the anit stab kit.

ditch the plastic rail caps

Yeah you need to cut off more rail. Try to find Mountainhorses Timbersled Skid install thread and you'll see a pic in there. Basically, you are going to ditch those stock black plastic ends and cut the rail down to about a half inch beyond where the bolt goes through for anti stab kit.

As it stands now with those rail caps still on and not enough rail trimmed off, the anti stab kit is not doing you any good.

I'll try to find that thread and the pic in it that will show you how much you should trim offf your rails.

Here is the pic. This would be a good thread to read just to get an idea even though you may not have a timbersled skid.

Here is the thread

Just what Dave said... Do it like in the photos and you will have no problems...

Also...Switch out the softer grade 5 bolts that come with the Anti stab kit for grade 8's on the outside wheels. (grade 5 in my pix were swapped for grade 8's after the 5's took a slight bend from use)

Heated and bent the tips up

2005 900 166 lots of mods

Put avids on mine --- no baby wheels for me.

Cut about 2 inches off, heated and bent the tips up with the cradel clamped to the bench. Redrilled things

Looks like Factory. I have 1200 hard miles on it.

DON"T BELIEVE THEM WHEN THEY SAY THE HEAT WILL RUIN THE RAILS.
