ANTI-RATCHET DRIVERS RUBBING

C

Cracked Throttle

New member
I put the avid anti-ratchet drivers on my 05' 900 RMK, and cut the rails and re-installed the stock anti-stabs on the front of the cut rails. The stock anti-stab is being held on with the limitor strap bar bolt. Anyhow when I am going down hill and hit any bumps or snowballs etc. the anti-ratchets will rub on the anti-stab. Any ideas on how to eliminate this prob? Any comments are greatly appriciated!

Sounds like you'll have to cut the rails back even more. The best way to check for clearence is with the sled sitting on a flat surface, lift it up and stick a block under the track towards the front of the track (near the front track shock) and then let the weght of the sled collapse the front part of the rear suspension and check for clearence. If needed you might have to move the limiter strap bar back as far as you can and remount it so you can cut the rails back more. Only cut enough so everything clears.

you will have to move the limitor bar back 3/4 inch and cut rais to fit this will work.

Had same problem - I actually ran a 146" on my 144" so I also moved the whole skid back 1-1/2" gave me the clearance plus took up the extra track slack!!

Cut rails

I DID THIS ON MY 05 900 . HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS PULL THE PLASTIC TIPS OFF AND CUT & GRIND ABOUT 1/2 TO 5/8 IN. OFF OF THE TIP. PUT A BLOCK UNDER THE FRONT OF THE SKID & PUSH DOWN ON THE BACK BUMPER TO COMPRESS IT UP THEN YOU'LL SEE HOW MUCH TO TAKE OFF. MINE WORKS GREAT NOW HOPE THIS HELPS.

SORRY DIDN'T SEE YOU SAID IT WAS HITTING ON THE ANTI- STAB KIT YOU MAY NEED TO MOVE IT BACK IN THE RAILS.

grind and profile the rail tips back about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch and colapse the suspension i used a floor jack and lowerd the sled down onto it untill the suspension was fully colasped i also fliped the rail tips to give it a better up turn. i cut the rails back to the limmiter and ground tips works very well
