Antelope/Ironbog

Heh, 7/8ths of the Idaho SWers don't even know where this is at. I see the Snotels in the area are reporting crappy snow depths. IdahoMike may be the best to send a PM to if you need info STAT. I am headed up to the parents place this weekend which may even include a fishing trip to Mackay. I'll ask arond and see if I can find any info for you.

I know where this is...This is where I used to live..:D

Dont know the conditions as of lately, but a few weeks ago when I was in Arco, the mountains over that way looked great, but never made an actual trip into Antelope so cant say for sure..:beer;

Our neighbor in Mackay rides Copper Basin a lot and said you could probably drive a pickup around the loop road still. I hope he was joking. If you are in the area, the only place there is any snow is up Park Creek, which is just this side of Trail Creek. Pretty sad year this year so far, as much snow at 6000' as there is anywhere else.

talked to same neighbor yesterday(thursday) and he said you could ride the roads in copper basin, but wouldn't want to get too far off the road. I would bet the snow is a little better as you get into muldoon area though, as there has been a little better snowfall the farther south you go, but still nothing special. this winter it's hard to tell from mile to mile what you are going to get.

some of the guys I ride with are heading up there tomorrow to test it out. I'm unable since I can barely walk after putting in new floors all week. I'll try to get some info. from them tomorrow night and pass it along. They work at the site and the Arco boys say they've got nearly 2 feet down low so they're hoping it's double or more up high. Guess we'll see. No doubt though, when the snow's abundant, there are few places that compare.
