I cannot believe this.. Its like its not real. I am in complete shock.. Dan was my friend. Talked to each other on almost a daily basis.. You will never find a nicer, kinder person. I still cant believe its real.. I just got off of the phone with his sister and the funeral will be either friday or saturday. She is going to get confirmation and let me know.. Finding this out is very sadening to me.. Words cannot describe how I feel.. I have heard of many lives being taken, but never has it been someone I was lucky enough to have befriended earlier in life.. Dan, my friend you will be missed.. Cant wait to sled together on the other side.. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Please everyone, Be safe!

Did not know him but still hurts to hear of this. Never a good thing when a husband, father, brother, uncle friend etc. is lost so quickly. 2 men caught in 2 separate slides in Utah over the weekend, one made it out alive and the other did not. Never let a day go by without letting the ones you love know how you feel. Thoughts and prayers to friends and families.

Tragic news. My prayers are with the family. 
WOW!!!! it is truly scary when it happens twice in your own back yard. Truly a sad day in the sierra's. RIP my friends RIP. There was another skiers death at near Apline meadows as well this weekend. He was rescued but later died in the hospital. it just shows how dangerous the conditions are out there right now with this crazy winter we are having.
