Another shock alternative for Nytros

Ski-Doo 440 race shocks are pretty much a direct bolt on for the Nytros. The C to C is 18.25" so you have to shorten them 3/4" but other than that they bolt right on. They use the exact same bolts and fit perfectly on top and only need a few washers on bottom(the gap is .205). Biggest pain will be mounting the ressis. Can't beat them for the money though, I paid $525 for mine and they are truly awesome shocks. Rebound and compression adjustable, huge shafts, ect. Jumping will be way more fun this year without the crappy Floats.

Anyway, for those who can't afford Ohlins, here is a way better shock than the GYTR's for the same price. If you're patient you can find used race shocks for $500-600.

I'm assuming all you have to do to shorten them is to remove the eyelet on the shaft, cut the shaft down and re-thread? What rate springs are those?

To shorten them the right way , you have to change the spacers inside the shock .

No cutting, you can just shim them down like mentioned above. I'm having mine done next week. They are the stock springs but I want my shocks stiff.

Nikolai, what do you see the benefits are on these shocks vs the Floats in mountain riding, besides the jumping of course? Who is modding your shocks?

I only bought them because I want shocks that can handle big air. They are heavy shocks (about 8 lbs more for the pair over Floats) so unless you jump, they probably aren't worth it. I don't care about weight though, I just want kickazz suspension. Jeff from Miller Marine is doing all four shocks for me. Very knowledgeable guy and extremely nice. He helped me a lot in the past with my old Rev.
