Another Season Winding Down?

With warming temps. and no snow in the forecast, global warming has once again reared its ugly head, proving the season is slow but surely winding down. With seasons undeniably growing shorter and shorter, hopefully everyone has had the opportunity to get out and enjoy what winter we have had. Feel free to share your thoughts as you reflect back on this short season.

You are a real "glass is half full" kinda guy aren't ya.

Fear not my friend, global warming or not we are still far enough away from the sun in the whole "orbital cycle thingy" that it is going to stay cold enough. All we need is a little change in the pressure and we'll be knee deep in again before you know it.:beer;

Now....quit whining or go sit in the truck ;)

Cheers!
Chris

What? I think somebody should kick all those global warming fanatics in their neatherlands. The eaths climate is cyclical. 300 years ago the European continant was in the middle of a mini iceage. Have humans had an influence on the climate? Yep. All that CO2 in Wyoming coal has to have had some effect, but the Sun is still the biggest influence on our climate. Ask any scientist (Al Gore isn't one).

season here has been terrible, no snow until almost xmas. now over 2 weeks without a flake. last weekend you could see bare ground at almost 6k in some spots. so if it doesn't start blasting here pretty soon will be riding quads by next month!!!:(

You know its funny about the whole global warming thing. The earth didnt start cooling down till they closed down all the factories that put sulphur in the air. The sulphur actualy blocked the sun. A russian scientist actually wants to shoot sulphur rockets into the atmosphere to cool it down.

The fun has just begun here in northern B.C. good 3 months left lots and lots of snow in the mountians if only the slides would stop so we can get back out there....

Highly unlikely

Obviously, you don't subscribe to any scientific publications.

Sulfur Into Atmosphere

You both gave SPDFREEK the benefit of the doubt that he would read a scientific journal/publication? Bad bet, but charitable

Sorry for that...I had no idea that retarded idea was ACTUALLY real. Sounds like a bandaid on a gunshot wound to me.
Besides...wouldn't you be changing the pH of the rain if you could somehow managed to inject enough sulphur into the atmosphere??? Solve one problem and create another...sounds like the idea came from a large pharmacutical company to me.

The planet has the ability to cool itself...why not let it?

Ya I just thought its funny because the enviromenalist tried to do one thing for the environment and it caused a rise in the global temp. The whole scientist thing is just 1of the top 5 ways to cool it down. According to the discovery channel.

Most definitely. (acid rain is generally the result of sulfur or nitrogen compounds being injected into the air) But, global warming has been whipped into such a frenzy, that their backpedaling on Nuclear power also. Which they said would never happen.

What their proposing is spreading it at a pretty high altitude (10,000 feet). It would take years to fall back to earth. I doubt it would contribute enough to acid rain, to be very noticeable. Acid rain is generally emitted at low altitude (smoke stack), so it falls downwind, within a few hundred miles. At 10,000 feet, it'd fall pretty evenly around the entire planet, mostly ocean.
