Another Polaris Towed Out...

Well Polaris, your 4 year warranty is great and all, but does it do anything for me when the sled blows an engine down in a ravine that is virtually impossible to tow a sled out of????

See video below of us spending an entire day dragging a blown 2012 out of a ravine instead of riding the 3'+ of fresh powder there was to enjoy...

By the way, that's a boosted AC attempting to pull me out in take 1. So, what's better than a boosted AC pulling...possibly another sled hooked to the front in an attempt to keep it from wheeling so the driver can steer...that didn't prove to be successful either!

So, how'd we get it out...none other than pulling/yanking/dragging this thing the last 100 yards purely by hand, inch after inch.

I came really close to this same situation yesterday but with a drive shaft issue.

Any more details? Cylinder Skirt? That is what happened to mine at around 1500 miles I think. I wonder if we will see any of those issues rear their ugly head on the 13's? Sure is depressing in the ol Polaris section these days.:face-icon-small-sad

I better not EVER (agian- enter D8) need to do that due to poor workmanship/ design... :face-icon-small-fro

As posted above "that would really sucks" it would ruin a day in a big way.
Looks like you got beat up from the roosters and did you buy your friends a beer?

That's a bummer... But while its down might as well yank that drive shaft and put it on the backup 13'. :bounce: Keep up updated on what all failed...

sorry to hear :/

never seen a double tow.looks deep

did it a couple times when i was younger. being the lightest one i always got stuck on the sled being towed. one time we had a 1000cc thundercat and a 700cc wildcat double towing an XLT up a steep hill. hit the bottom at around 60 MPH ... it was pretty scary for a kid!

For clarification, the double tow is NOT what got the sled out...it was good ol fashion man power...8 guys pushing, pulling, and dragging it BY HAND up the last deep and steep hill. THANKS TO THE GUYS FROM ND WHO STOPPED TO HELP!!!!

No thanks to Polaris for building yet another engine that didn't last more than 600 miles...

This why I bought the 600 pro, little sacrifice on some torque, but has proven already to run with any 800 stocker of course! Sorry to hear that hopefully the season will turn around for you..

but my dealer assured me they fixed the motor problems they had with the 11s in 2012,or was that the 13s,:face-icon-small-con sorry to hear it,

I did the same thing as you did yesterday. My 12 blew a motor 15 miles back in. I had to tow it with my 11 Pro already on it's 3rd motor. I had only 1,150 miles on my 12 Pro. I spent all day today going to find a new dealer. Warranted but 4 to 6 weeks out. Good I have my 11 to ride.
