Well, the ax fell on me today. First thing this morning I was given the 'see-ya' letter and laid off. Not the first time I've been in this sort of rodeo, but never fun.

Short of the long is that I've been doing Software Quality Assurance (Engineer and Management), Development Management and IT work for 20+ years now. If anyone has any leads I'd love to hear about them.

man that sucks buddy..I sure wish our politicians would learn..if they want the country to prosper they gotta give the money to the taxpayers..we make the economy go....if they just allowed everone who makes 40-120,000 a year to skip on taxes for 1 yr.. the amount of money that would roll thru our economy would do more for this world then anything they could ever dream up...

Sorry to hear Dan. You are a highly qualified person. I am sure something will work out for you.

That sucks man. Hopefully you can find some type of employment until you find something in your field or can find someone hiring right away.

I know this economy makes us look at things a bit differently even though our main customer is the USFS. They can terminate our 5 year contracts whenever they please so we really have to put a new meaning to "nod your head, smile and say OK" even more so than we used too. As rediculous as their demnds may be, we try to please them.

I love that idea. What would I do with the $15Gs the federal and state government take out of my paycheck every year. Close to 20G with SS and medicare......25% of my earned money gone before I even see it, then however much more when I purchase, gas....beer...cigarettes...food....insurance...my vehicle to get to work....sleds...registration on tthe sled....

It never ends.

Sorry to hear the news. Utah's IT/SW industry is still feeling the effects of the nations economic downturn from 08'. Sort of in their own bubble. We work with IT/SW professionals nationally and may be able to help. PM your phone number and I will call you.
