What you see in the picture is the bottom mount for your exhaust.

See those flanges on the top of the bracket?

Well those flanges are rubbing into the aluminum oil line that rests above and touches the bracket right on both flanges.

My aluminum oil line was rubbed about a 1/3 of the way through. It looks like all of our sleds would have the same issue.

I plan on taking a dremel tool and grinding those flanges down at least half of the height if not more. Then I plan on wrapping that oil line with a section of radiator hose or something like that.

If that oil line wears through we are all set to see alot more youtube videos of these sleds on fire. It is not a matter of if this will wear through, but when.

This is a life safety issue folks, and you should alter that bracket or somehow bend the tubing so that it does not rub.........

At any rate,,,,,,,,,,,,,, have a look at yours.

Not to rag but could you imagine what would happen to an auto manufacturer if all of these issues were to happen to a particular model of car or truck?

Arctic Cat has acknowledged this

Scroll down to page 6 for Arctics fix! Although I think that Cat should of had a separate service bulletin for this and not buried in a reverse bulletin that was cancelled.

Good find Hilly.........

Mine was like that from the factory though.......

Looking at the oil line, it looks to me like it could rotate and still hit those flanges......

I think I am gonna do both the Arctic fix and "grinder down" method.......

And then when I find a good can to put on this thing, not have to worry about it........

I would agree whole heartedly with you..........

When mine goes in this fall for the reverse fix I'll have my dealer address it!

Maybe a sticky for this forum, recalls bullletins and owner observed issues.

Loved my year on the 1100t but for me:
Radiator reservoir split
Coolant hose rubbed replaced on bolt by clutch cover
Air filter soaked from a roll over, check regularly
Air filter elbow breather self fix plumbing elbow
Secondary rollers cracked
Reverse motor fuse not installed properly

Thanks Jeff.

I don't mind making a list, but let's make this place an upbeat home for all of us who want to ride these sleds for the near future. I don't want to ride any other sled that I see out there.

I think it would be nice to have a list of watch outs not unlike the topic from the op, stuff to watch for that might leave you stranded on the hill.

I agree Owen, and I tried to keep the post about the FACTS.....

Just check it folks, that is all I am saying. If that springs a leak, it is in a spot where the heat off the muffler could cause a fire........

Those who haven't had it taken care of yet, will have it done with the updates this fall (there will be several things addressed with one visit to the dealer) If yours is worn, have your dealer order one ahead of time, and replace it while they are in there.

Believe it or not loosening the clamps and twisting the pipe, makes a lot of clearance (at least on the short trackers I did 20 or so this winter)

there are atleast 6 other bad rub spots, i have been posting them, I will again here when i get done making parts today.
