Such sad news.

a bad accident up snake today around 3pm.

John Meyers was found in a gully about 6:30pm


My heart goes out to the Family and all that were involved.


(after more info this morning it does not seem to be an Avy. It does seem to be a freak accident where low visibility
and bad conditions played a part. When he was found it was near dark and the people who found him originally thought it was an avy.) Still Prayer go the the Meyers Family.

Horrible...Still no one has any buisness being at a place like that right now. Even if you are careful you'll get creamed by a natural avy. I don't know if that was the case here or not.

Ive been told this was not an avalanche death but a freak accident. something to do with a ravine and going into the snow head first. Im sure we'll find out more in the coming days.

The state web site called out Snake creek by name as a place to avoid. Avy death or not we shouldnt be there. Very tough loss, I worry about the dam trails and sides of the hill getting into the "meadows". God bless his family and all of ours. RIP John Meyers.

I was up there last night on the recovery. It was not an avalanche, he was not even on a hill. It seemed to be a freak accident, and is very, very sad. My thoughts and feelings continue to go out to Danny and the rest of John's family.
