Another Clutch Question

I thought I had this thing ready to go. But after torquing the primary i checked the alignment again.

I have the SLP alignment tool. Im getting .066" in the front and .145" in thre rear of the secondary. Looking at the instructions I think they should be .0825" and .125". So I am about .02" off

When installing the motor I followed the process outined in the "Links" section.

Im not sure what to do next. Loosen all the motor mounts and try and twist the motor into alignment?

Anyone have any ideas or does my clutch measurements sound ok?

Other than using thin washers to shim it you are pretty much there. Did you have issues with belts?

There is very little you can do align the clutches on the 900 with the fixed motor mounts

Really they only for sure option to help the clutch align is "floating" your secondary clutch..add/remove shim washers to allow the secondary to float on the jack shaft about 1/4" off center..

As long as your using the 3211115 belt and have proper belt deflection AND you have good motor mounts... you will be ok and not have any belt issues

Thanks for the replies!

I got the sled over the summer so I had he engine out while goinig through the entire sled.

All new motor mounts, the secondary floats, and belt deflection is set.

All I need now is some snow!

Those numbers aren't right, those are for the P2/tied and tss-04 clutch. Unless you swapped out the secondary to one of those.

Oh..what numbers should i have used?

I thought i was reading the 2006 specs in the SLP instructions.

It would be easy enough to add a shim behind the secondary to get 0"gap at the front the the secondary.

Thanks

For the tss-98 with 8 bolt on helix would be o gap on front and if you have slp push and torque arms .000"-.020" @ rear/without slp arms .000" front and .040" rear. Without the adjustability of these engine mounting I manage to get mine .000" front and .035" rear with the slp arms and never had a problem with heat or belt life.

First thing is to clean the edges so it will not crack/stress. Very little really slowly.
Look into having that one balanced? Find used one to rebuild or rebuilt one!
That is awfully light material and it may not be that far out if at all?!

Call up Indy specialties in MN. I'm sure Dan can hook you up with a sweet take off with all his work done to it for a nice price. I had to get a primary before winter fell and I bought it from Dan. He is the bomb when it comes time for clutches
