Sat,, May 04--Idle Glen pl was empty, the FS gates were closed so we boondocked our way around the gates and rode mud and snow for about 1/2 mile, then good cover with minor bare spots. Once we hit 9,000' the snow was deep and slightly setup and heavy in the sun-then the clouds came in and dropped snow showers as each dark cloud raced across the sky. No marks on lower Gravel when we arrived so we fixed that!
The grooming stopped last weekend so we were on our own to find our way around.
A few wrong turns added to the adventure as well as streaming water in unsuspecting places. Idle Glen was still empty when we returned at 4:45
I suspect the lower elevation trail riding is finished for the season as temps are rising and rain is in the forecast.
Thank you Grand Lake Trail Groomers for the great job you did this year!!
