Another Belt Option For The Xp's

I know a lot of people are haveing belt issues with the Xp and I'm not saying this is a fix, it's just another belt you can run. Took the spare belt off the 98 Summit X, which for me is a Gates Extreme 38X4360 and it "seems" to be the correct length. I know it is slightly narrower and I have not had a chance to measure the length. I tossed it on and adjusted my ride height and will try it tomorrow. I would assume, just like the clutches that have used the Gates in the past, they will require more weight for the harder compound Gates. Not sure what Ski-Doo charges for the oem belt, but I think I paid about $55 for the Gates with an unquestionable warrenty.;)

Put the belt to the test this weekend and I looks new still. High speed trail runs, deep powder mountian riding, even coming down hill in reverse, all looks good. Just an option.

Im trying one out as well. No problem so far but others have said when they go they grenade. I have not really had the right snow conditions to put the belt to the real test but it seems to run cool and still looks new.

Any belt will blow no doubt. I'm just saying this is another option. Get the clutching correct and any belt issues will be less. The Gates belts seem to take more abuse from what I have seen. I have been running them for years and have had very few blow or come apart at all. Clutch set up is the key.
