Another Avalanche Death In Utah

The KSL web site is reporting a Avy.death in Utah but there are no details yet. Has anyone heard anything?

not good... :( sad news,,,

just checked it said a man between 25-35 at the canyons resort... so at least its not a sledder, but still very tragic

Avalanche around noon today at the Canyons Resort. Undetermined if the skiers were out of bounds or not, right near the north border of the resort. A 25 - 30 year old man was pronounced dead and an adolescent boy was rescued and taken to a hospital. My daughter was snowshoeing yesterday and snowboarding today and she saw numerous slides around the Wasatch Mountains - be extremely careful ya'all.

We've got more snow coming, which is a good thing, but, let's use our heads!

Carry a beacon, probe and shovel, but ride smart enough so you never need to use them!

well said, never good to hear about this kind of stuff

just got back from fairwiew and we decided to stay away from all the big hills cause even the little hills we were climbing were wanting to slide

It seems like there has been a lot of avalanche deaths at the canyons over the last couple years.

Be careful if you're riding in Utah, we saw several natural slides yesterday. I would avoid any steep north or east facing slopes.
