Let's keep the tradition alive. Kim (Sunridge Sledhead) will you coordinate again this year? Jacob (BossRev) - same bet as always - Utah wins and you donate an extra $100, team down south wins and I pony up an extra $100? I will kick this off by donating $100 right now. C'mon guys and gals, let's git er dun! This has always been such a great and worthwhile experience and really sets the tone for the holiday season.

Also, have a great Thanksgiving. This Thanksgiving Day, let us remember what we truly have to be thankful for. Take a good, hard look around us and realize that, while we may not have everything that we want, we have much to be thankful and grateful for.

With all due respect, I know there was talk of letting Animals family move on and not revisit the pain each year. In my humble opinion that is what should happen. As for giving during the holiday season there is always plenty of opportunities to give and we all should do so.

Thanks for the FYI

I had not heard that but would support that as well. Some of the others who are closer to the family will have a better feel on that than I do. This is one of three Xmas giving opportunities that I am involved in and would have no problem transferring those energies and resources to the other two. Thanks for the FYI Freak.

Anyone on here still close to the family and know what thier situation is? I could understand if they have moved on and it could be a problem with us bring this back up every year. Ill pony up for whatever, there are alot of good things to donate for out there.

Doug and I will be meeting with Carolyn and the girls within the next week or two. I don't think they have a problem with it at all. I just think they have been blown away, and maybe a little embarrassed, by some of the past amounts we were able to give them. A lot of big hearts around here! I am truly blessed and impressed to have such friends, as is Dave and his family.

On another note....if anyone is heading up Mirror Lake Hwy you may consider stopping by Doug's (Rockstar's) place, just East of Samak, to see if he needs any help. For those who don't know, he had a 3 level front and back lumbar fusion about 4 weeks ago. He has been very very painful. Unable to drive for 3 months, and unable to lift anything or shovel. Our help will go a long ways for him. Things he may need....shoveling snow, groceries, and filling buckets for stove. Doug's # email is dat@xmission.com. He is unable to receive or send texts, as he is out of service at his house. Thanks everyone!

Heck, I should take my 6 kids up to visit Doug... they would take care of him. :)

So what's the decision, give or no give to the ladies this year?

Yes, yes, yes on this PLEASE. He's always the first to step up to help others, but will never ask for assistance for himself. I WISH I were closer so I could be there to help him. He does NEED assistance with things now. This is where we can step up and help this wonderful man who so selflessly gives of himself to everyone that needs it (including those he doesn't even know, like with his turkey drive). Maybe some videos for him to watch, or a smiling face to visit with for awhile, or any number of other things (including those that SS mentioned). This probably deserves it's own thread. Here RS is in terrible pain, but he fought for the turkey drive for the less fortunate, and now looking to help Animal's family again.

SS...do you have an address for him? We could flood him with get well cards.
