It used to be that actuators where the problem. Researchers are solving that. Have you read about the new carbon nanotube electrically stimulated muscles. Strength of steel, and contracts like muscle.

Power is now the problem. No matter how good your actuators and control system are, your still doing work, and you can't get that done for free. Li Sulfur is the new big tech for batteries. But, lithium is running it's course, you just can't store electrons any more efficient, in a battery anyways.

I think military robots aren't that far off. The world's getting smaller.
