American Fork still closed

Anyone know why they haven't opened the gate in american fork yet? It sucks we drove all the way up there and they have not even opened it yet. There was plenty of snow on the road to get up there.

Are you talking about the gate at tibble fork? Isn't that gate always closed during the winter you just drive around it.

Yes, but they have the small opening closed as well that you normally drive through. You cannot go around because of fencing and boulders. Same thing with the other gate on the alpine loop.

Call John at the PG FS office, he tells his guys to open and close the gate, leave a message if he does not answer.

In the past they won't open till 12"s now depth. Opened last year close to Christmas with less than that. You can come in from the Wasatch state park side, but a long drive.
