Ame heated grips

Was planning ame grips on a 450sxf with trailtech stator and lithium battery. Buddy said can't run them with lithium battery as the standing voltage on the battery will be too high and the grips will not auto shut off? Anyone running this set up know if I need to go back to yuasa battery to make auto shut off work?

I ran them last year with a LiFePo4 battery with no problems. However I didn't really rely on the auto shut off feature. I just turned them off.
